Archbishop Stepinac High School has named Patrick Massaroni its new varsity head basketball coach. Massaroni, who most recently coached Stepinac’s Varsity B team, will take the position effective immediately, the White Plains boys’ school announced April 22. He succeeds Steve Herman, who recently stepped down.

Massaroni is a 2006 graduate of Stepinac who played basketball, football and baseball for the school. He completed his undergraduate work at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, earning a bachelor’s degree in sports communication. He served four years on the Marist College basketball staff.

"I think Stepinac has made an outstanding selection in the hiring of Pat Massaroni,” said Marist Athletic Director Tim Murray. “During his time at Marist College, Pat made significant contributions in many areas with our basketball programs. He is an extremely hard-working, dedicated young professional. I am very confident that will bring great success to his alma mater’s basketball program.”

Following his graduation from Marist, Massaroni joined the men’s basketball staff at James Madison University, 2010-2012. He served as a graduate assistant, earning his master’s degree in sports management. While at James Madison, Massaroni assisted with workouts, practice planning and game preparation.
