Fordham University
Ranked ‘Best for Vets’

Fordham University has been ranked the best four-year college in New York for military veterans by the publication Military Times. There are 300 veterans enrolled at Fordham for the spring semester.

Colleges and universities were ranked in a dozen categories for veteran friendliness, ranging from an institution’s participation in the Veterans Administration “Yellow Ribbon” program to the number of faculty members who are veterans to the flexibility in a school’s residency policies. Fordham participates in the Yellow Ribbon program whereby an institution can waive up to 50 percent of tuition and fee charges for veterans.

Fordham ranks 23rd overall among four-year colleges in the United States.

The Fordham Vets initiative was launched in 2009 to provide veterans with specialized services including an entry adviser, a website for student-veterans, orientation programs and in-service professional development opportunities, presented by VA Medical Center staff and other experts, concerning Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury, and other potential learning issues of student-veterans.
