Catholic Channel to Broadcast Live From Alfred E. Smith Foundation Dinner

Sirius XM Radio will feature live coverage of the annual Alfred E. Smith Foundation Dinner, including keynote speeches by President Barack Obama and Republican candidate Mitt Romney tonight, Oct. 18, at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Manhattan.

The special will air nationwide on The Catholic Channel (SiriusXM channel 129) from 9 to 10 p.m. It will be hosted by Catholic Channel program director Father Jonathan Morris and Father Dave Dwyer, C.S.P., host of “The Busted Halo Show.”

Father Morris and Father Dwyer will discuss the history of the Al Smith Dinner and its significance as a presidential election year event. Listeners will get live coverage of President Obama’s and Gov. Romney’s speeches in their entirety and the remarks of Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, who extended the invitations to both candidates for an evening of “positive, upbeat, patriotic, enjoyable civil discourse.”

After tonight’s broadcast, The Catholic Channel’s coverage of the dinner will be available on SiriusXM on Demand for subscribers listening via the SiriusXM Internet Radio App for smartphones and other mobile devices or online at SiriusXM.com.
