Centennial Celebration for the College of Mount St. Vincent
Standing in front of the commemorative plaque at right is Charles L. Flynn, Jr., the college president, and, from left, Sister Kathleen M. Tracey, S.C., associate vice president of institutional advancement and college relations; Sister Carol Finegan, S.C., director of institutional research; and Sister Cecilia Harriendorf, S.C., director of campus ministry. The Sisters of Charity of New York founded the college in 1847 as the Academy of Mount St. Vincent. In 1911, the charter was amended by the Trustees of the University of the State of New York, creating the College of Mount St. Vincent.

CENTENNIAL—The College of Mount St. Vincent in the Riverdale section of the Bronx marked the centennial of its founding as a degree-granting institution April 19 with a Mass and ceremony rededicating Founders’ Hall. The staircase leading to the building was also recently refurbished as a centennial project.
