College of New Rochelle to Offer Master’s Degree at Burke Catholic

The College of New Rochelle and John S. Burke Catholic High School in Goshen announced on March 9 they are forming “a new partnership” to offer college degree program opportunities in the Orange County area.

Starting this fall the College of New Rochelle will offer its master’s program in public administration at Burke High School. The College of New Rochelle will utilize Burke classrooms during evening hours.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with a fellow Catholic institution through this collaboration that will deliver higher education opportunities to the people of Orange County,” said Judith Huntington, president of the College of New Rochelle.

“We hope this will be the start of a strong connection between our schools and hope to include additional graduate and undergraduate degrees in the future.”

Burke principal John Dolan added, “We are thankful for this opportunity to expand the reach of our school to serve a broader community in partnership with the College of New Rochelle.”

An information session about the master’s program is scheduled for Thursday, April 16 at 6 p.m. at Burke Catholic High School, 80 Fletcher St., Goshen.

The master’s in public administration program provides the theoretical background, practical experience and training necessary for a professional career in public service. Its 36-credit curriculum covers topics of management and leadership, organizational theory, public policy, communications theory, human resources management, budgeting, finance and program evaluation.
