Families Invited to ‘Touring Tuesdays’ At Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese

As part of efforts to better serve families, Catholic schools across the archdiocese will again open their doors on designated “Touring Tuesdays” to enable prospective to experience firsthand the benefits of a Catholic education for their children.

More than 100 Catholic schools in all nine educational regions are expected to participate in Touring Tuesdays this year, including all regional Catholic elementary schools and many parish-based schools.

Now in its second year archdiocesan-wide, Touring Tuesdays are universal open houses scheduled periodically throughout the academic year, allowing parents interested in either kindergarten through eighth grade or in early education programs—including pre-k 3, pre-k 4 or free universal pre-k—the opportunity to meet principals and teachers and see classrooms in action.

This school year, Touring Tuesdays are scheduled for Nov. 18 and, in 2015, on Jan. 27, March 10, April 28 and June 2.

Last year, nearly 1,000 families attended Touring Tuesdays open houses throughout the archdiocese, contributing to 1,464 enrollments as a result of the new, integrated marketing effort.

On Touring Tuesdays, parents are invited to schedule tours from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., or by appointment. The open houses are for prospective parents only and reservations are required.

Parents may make a reservation by calling a 24-hour, bilingual phone line: (646) 794-2885 or research information about every school in the archdiocese at www.BuildBoldFutures.org through the interactive school map or the “Find a School” button.

Parents may also complete an online inquiry form to request information about specific schools and/or Touring Tuesdays events. Once their contact information is submitted, parents will receive a call from a bilingual telemarketer within 72 hours of their request to answer any questions they may have and schedule a Touring Tuesdays visit.

Regional marketing specialists are available to follow up on tours and help parents find the right school for their children.
