Msgr. Edward Barry, regional vicar of the Northeast Bronx and pastor of St. Barnabas parish, far left, leads the Northeast Bronx Vicariate’s 30th annual Marian Day celebration May 6. The celebration began with Benediction and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament inside St. Lucy’s Church. An outdoor procession with recitation of the Rosary led to the crowning of the statue of the Blessed Mother at the Scala Sancta. Eight-year-old Gabriella Aversano, dressed in her white First Communion dress, assisted with the crowning.
