Lenox Hill Internships for St. Jean Baptiste Students

St. Jean Baptiste High School in Manhattan has partnered with Lenox Hill Hospital, also in Manhattan, for a new physician assistant internship program.

Students will get a first-hand look at a career in medicine as a physician assistant. They will complete 45 hours of learning experience alongside mentors. They will attend lectures, participate in hospital rounds and complete a 2,000-word essay on the role physician assistance play in the care of patients.

The 15-week internships begin in September and will be open to five juniors with a minimum 3.5 grade point average. Applicants will go through an interview process with Lenox Hill staff before they are selected.

“This initiative provides a unique opportunity for students to gain real-life experience in the field of medicine that will prepare them not only for college but also help them establish a career path for their future,” said Sister Maria Cassano, C.N.D., principal of St. Jean Baptiste.
