Huzzah for Cardinal Dolan! It was a breath of fresh air to read his Report on the Synod (CNY, Oct. 29). How wonderful it was to read a clear, orthodox presentation of our Church’s teaching on faithful marriage, sin and repentance, and the hopeful possibility of true conversion of heart. This is the singular mission of the Church.
His development of the model of Jesus on the road to Emmaus truly gave us reason for our hearts to be “burning within us.”
This was in such notable contrast with the bobbing and weaving of other ecclesiastics interviewed on TV, and the surprising response of another who found it difficult to give a definition of adultery.
Thank God for our cardinal’s willingness to have his yes be yes and his no be no!
