More Than ‘Dismay’

Posted

To the Editor:

Dismay over omission of education tax credits surely is not enough (CNY, April 2). Parents, parishioners and school officials should be mobilized in a constant drive to contact the governor and their representatives in the state Senate and Assembly.

A more effective measure would be to render all parents of charter, denominational or public schools vouchers for their children to attend the school of their choice.

Precedent for such was the GI Bill, which aided so many in attending college. Did our country benefit? It sure did! Many attended college who would not have been able to do so. We gained so many people who became leaders in business, education, government, etc.

Fight the good fight. Convince the Albany executive and legislators to do the will of the people.
