New Regional Superintendent Named for Westchester, Putnam

Noelle Beale, who has served as a principal and teacher at schools in the archdiocese, has been named regional superintendent for the Westchester and Putnam counties region, Dr. Timothy McNiff, the archdiocese’s superintendent of schools, recently announced.

As a regional superintendent, Ms. Beale will provide administrative oversight and educational leadership to Catholic elementary schools in the region and be the primary liaison between those schools and the Office of the Superintendent of Schools.

In addition, Ms. Beale will work collaboratively with associate superintendents to monitor and maintain archdiocesan policies and procedures in instruction and Catholic identity, assist in the recruiting, training and evaluating of principals and support school marketing efforts.

Ms. Beale, who assumed responsibilities Aug. 1, succeeds Philip Gorrasi, who is the associate superintendent for mission effectiveness.

For the past seven years, Ms. Beale was principal at Sacred Heart of Jesus School in Manhattan, where she significantly raised school overall New York State Assessment scores, increased enrollment, upgraded classroom technology and secured substantial capital grant funding.

She earlier served as assistant principal for advancement and technology at Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers, and as assistant to the principal at Immaculate Conception School in Tuckahoe, where she also taught.

A mentor at the Curran Principal Academy in 2010-2011, she is currently a member of the archdiocesan values advisory board and school crisis management team, and from 2008 to 2010 was a member of the archdiocesan technology committee. She also participated in the superintendent’s strategic planning process, pertaining to school leadership.

Ms. Beale a member of St. Catherine parish in Pelham, is completing her doctoral degree in educational leadership, administration and policy at Fordham University. She earned a master’s degree in education as well as a professional diploma in advanced leadership studies from Manhattan College, and a bachelor’s degree in theology with a concentration in English literature from Fordham University.

“Noelle’s leadership experience, expertise and deep commitment to Catholic education will no doubt serve the regional needs of school communities in Westchester and Putnam counties very well,” Dr. McNiff said.
