Notre Dame Club of Staten Island To Sponsor 9/11 Remembrance

The University of Notre Dame Club of Staten Island is sponsoring its 14th annual “Eve of Solemn Remembrance” for 9/11 on Thursday, Sept. 10 at St. Peter’s Church on Staten Island, beginning with a musical program at 7 p.m.

Auxiliary Bishop John J. O’Hara, dean of Staten Island, will be the principal celebrant and homilist of the Mass, which will be offered at 7:30 p.m.

Maura Molloy will provide music beginning at 7 p.m. Benediction and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be offered after Mass.

The event has been held since 2002 at St. Peter’s, the mother church of Staten Island. Msgr. James Dorney, pastor emeritus of St. Peter’s and chaplain of the Notre Dame Club, and Father Michael Chicon, the current pastor, will concelebrate the Mass, along with clergy from across Staten Island.
