Priests Named Administrator, Parochial Vicars

Father Stephen Asomah has been appointed temporary administrator of St. Frances de Chantal parish in the Bronx, and Father Lino Gonsalves has been named parochial vicar at Immaculate Conception and Assumption in Tuckahoe and Father Lawrence Quinn has been appointed parochial vicar of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Manhattan, the Cardinal’s Office has announced.


Father Asomah’s appointment became effective Dec. 18. Father Gonsalves’ took effect Jan. 17, and Father Quinn’s Feb. 8.


Father Asomah had served for 15 month as parochial vicar at St. Frances de Chantal. He served briefly at St. Anthony of Padua, West Harrison, and Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Poughkeepsie, 2012-2014. He was ordained in 2008 for the Diocese of Sunyani, Ghana.


Father Gonsalves had served as administrator of St. Joseph and St. James, Manhattan, 2011-2016. He was parochial vicar at Our Lady of Guadalupe, Manhattan, 2009-2011; Our Lady Help of Christians, Staten Island, 2004-2009; and St. John the Baptist, Yonkers, 2001-2004. He was incardinated into the archdiocese in 2009. He was ordained in 1986 in his native India.


Father Quinn served as pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Mount Vernon, 2002-2015. He served as pastor at Our Lady of Mercy, the Bronx, 1983-2002. He also served in the Bronx as temporary administrator of Our Lady of Victory, 1979-1983, and parochial vicar at St. John Vianney, 1971-1979. He was ordained in 1971.
