Father Daniel Lahart, S.J., has been named the 22nd president of Regis High School in Manhattan.

The Regis High board of trustees recently voted unanimously to elect Father Lahart, who assumes his duties in the fall of 2016. Father James Croghan, S.J., who serves as the director of Ignatian Identity Programs and faculty chaplain at Regis, will serve as interim president beginning July 1.

Father Lahart has served as president of Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston for the past 14 years.

The appointment concludes a presidential search process that began last summer following the announcement by Father Philip G. Judge, S.J., that he would step down as Regis’ president at the conclusion of the 2014-2015 academic year.

After 10 years of leadership at Regis, Father Judge will continue in his role as assistant for strategic planning for the provincial of the Northeast Province of the Society of Jesus on July 1.
