Seminary Commencement

St. Joseph’ Seminary, Dunwoodie held its commencement ceremonies May 8. The Class of 2015 was a large one, which included 20 seminarians and 16 non-seminarians. All 20 seminarians received their master’s of divinity degrees and bachelors of sacred theology degrees from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome. Thirteen seminarians also received masters of theology degrees and three received masters of arts degrees in Catholic philosophical studies. Among the non-seminarians, 10 received master’s degrees in theology while five obtained master’s degrees in religious studies. One also received a post-master’s certificate in Sacred Scripture. Seminarian Sean Thomas Magaldi received the St. Charles Borromeo Award for academic excellence. Non-seminarians Christine Hammill and Susan E. Klein won the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Award for academic excellence. The graduation speaker was distinguished academic Father Gregory Tatum, O.P., scholar in residence, St. Joseph Seminary. Msgr. Peter Vaccari is rector of St. Joseph's Seminary.
