Looking for a special way to start the month of May, which is also the month of Mary, the Blessed Mother? Why not add one of the following faith-based events and activities to your weekend schedule?

Are you in the mood for a movie? On Saturday, Our Lady of Peace Church in Manhattan will show the documentary “Edith Stein, Echt and the Truth,” at 1:30 p.m., followed by a commentary on the film. Tickets are $15, and include refreshments.

If music is more your thing, St. Vincent Ferrer Church will present “Concert in Honor of Our Lady,” performed by the church choir, featuring Vivaldi’s Magnificat and Mozart’s Regina Caeli and Plainchants. The performance will take place on Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10-15.
