Looking for a new way to start September? Why not try one of the following faith-filled activities?

Beginning Sunday, Sept. 9, St. Francis Xavier Church in the Bronx will begin its parish mission at 7:30 p.m. The theme is “Strengthening our faith and becoming better informed Catholics,” with guest speaker Al Barbarino, a lay Franciscan and Knight of Columbus.

A few parishes throughout the archdiocese will be holding flea markets and yard sales this weekend. St. Casimir’s Church in Yonkers will host a flea market Saturday and Sunday. The Good Shepherd in Rhinebeck and St. Joseph's in Rhinecliff will have a yard sale in Rhinebeck Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And St. John Neumann on Staten Island will hold a flea market Saturday.

The John A. Coleman School, with campuses in White Plains and Yonkers, which provides special education programs and services to children, will host a charity event Saturday, Saturday, at 9 p.m. at Cassidy’s Irish Pub, 65 W. 55th St., Manhattan. Event includes prizes and raffles. (212) 397-0814.
