Administrators Named at Manhattan Parishes

Father Angelo Plodari, C.S., has been named administrator of Our Lady of Pompei parish in Manhattan and Father Raymond Rafferty has been appointed temporary administrator of Corpus Christi parish in Manhattan, the Cardinal’s Office has announced.

Also, Father Robert Dunn, who is serving as chaplain of Jeanne Jugan Residence in the Bronx, will be on permanent sick leave, effective April 1.

Father Plodari’s appointment became effective Jan. 15, and Father Rafferty’s took effect Jan. 23.

Father Angelo Plodari, C.S., had served as parochial vicar of Our Lady of Pompei since last March. He was rector, vocations promoter and treasurer of the Scalabrini seminary in Bogotá, Colombia, 2009-2016. He did youth ministry in his home diocese of Brescia, Italy, 2006-2009. His first two years of priesthood were spent in language training in Portugal, France and Luxembourg. He professed first vows with the Missionaries of St. Charles (Scalabrinians) in 1999, made final vows in 2003 and was ordained in the Diocese of Brescia in 2004.

Father Raymond Rafferty, who retired in 2013, served as pastor of Corpus Christi, 1998-2013. He also was pastor of St. Gregory the Great, Manhattan, 1989-1994, and served as a pastor in The Hague, Netherlands, 1994-1998. He was chaplain at New York University, 1981-1989. He was parochial vicar at St. Joseph’s, Yorkville, Manhattan, 1989; St. Augustine’s, New City, 1974-1981; and Blessed Sacrament, the Bronx, 1966-1974. He was ordained in 1966.

Father Robert Dunn has served as chaplain at Jeanne Jugan Residence in the Bronx since 2007. He was parochial vicar of St. Augustine, Ossining, 1996-2007; St. Gregory the Great, Manhattan, 1995-1996; and Incarnation, Manhattan, 1992-1995. He was ordained in 1992.
