The seventh annual “Home Run for Catholic Schools’’ game June 22 at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill was filled with highlights for students and their families, including a 6-1 New York-Penn League victory for the Hudson Valley Renegades over the Staten Island Yankees.

Students participated in pregame activities—a parade on the field, the singing of the National Anthem by students from Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie and a ceremonial first pitch by essay-contest winner Amy Zocchi of St. Peter’s School in Poughkeepsie.

During the seventh-inning stretch, Mairin MacDougall of St. Stephen-St. Edward School in Warwick sang “God Bless America,” and students from St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill performed “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.’
