Brother Frederic A. Musser, O.F.M.

Brother Frederic A. Musser, O.F.M., who served in Manhattan as a sacristan, died March 3 at St. Anthony Residence in Boston. He was 82. After serving in Brazil for 23 years, he returned to the United States in 1973 and for the next year served as sacristan and porter at St. Francis of Assisi parish on West 31st Street, Manhattan. He served there again, 1976-1977, when he became sacristan at St. Anthony Shrine in Boston. Born in Atlantic City, N.J., he entered the Franciscan Order in Paterson, N.J., in 1942 and professed final vows in 1948. While in Paterson, he served as sandal maker until 1950. He is survived by a brother, Benjamin. A Funeral Mass was offered March 6 at St. Anthony Shrine, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury, Mass.
