Deacon Alan Hudson, who served at St. Ann's parish in Nyack, died at his home Dec. 5. He was 86. He was assigned in 1998 to St. Ann's, where he served as a reader and acolyte. Ordained in 1991, he served at St. Aedan's in Pearl River for three years, then served for one week a month at St. Patrick's Cathedral until his assignment to St. Ann's. He also served as a Eucharistic minister, bringing Communion to patients at the Rockland County Infirmary and Nyack Hospital. Born in the Bronx, Deacon Hudson served in the U.S. Navy Intelligence Service during World War II. He later had a 32-year career in railroad marketing. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; seven daughters, Dr. Barbara Roberts, Dr. Mary Hudson, Donna Hudson, Kathleen Hansen, Regina Hudson, Rosa Hudson and Victoria Hudson; and three sons, Edwin, Matthew and Mark. A Funeral Mass was offered Dec. 7 at St. Ann's, with burial in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nyack.
