Deacon Daniel J. Ciccone, who served at Corpus Christi parish in Port Chester, died Oct. 5 at King Street Nursing Home in Rye Brook. He was 85 and lived in Port Chester.

He was ordained in 1989 and assigned to Corpus Christi, where he performed baptisms and marriages, led holy hours, conducted wake and graveside services, visited the homebound and brought the Eucharist to the sick and homebound on First Fridays.

A retired elementary school teacher, he taught for 29 years at Greenvale School in Eastchester and for one year at a junior high school.

Born in Bronxville, he grew up in Eastchester and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He held a bachelor's degree in education and a master's in elementary education from New York University.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth, and four sons, Clifford, James, Ronald and Gary.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 8 at Corpus Christi, with burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich, Conn.
