Deacon John Munnick

Deacon John Munnick, who served at Corpus Christi parish in Port Chester, died Nov. 6. He was 66. Known as Deacon Jack, he was ordained to the diaconate

in 1979. At Corpus Christi, he served over the years as a lector and Eucharistic minister. He coordinated and ran the weekly Bingo at the parish from 1967

to 1989. He served as a chaplain to various groups, including the Port Chester police and fire departments and the auxiliary police, the Rye Brook Police Department and the Port Chester Yacht Club. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society. Born in Greenwich, Conn., he attended the American Institute of Banking, Westchester Community College and Pace University. An accountant, he worked most recently at USA Central Alarm. He is survived by a daughter, Anne Marie; two sons, John and Joseph; and his siblings, Ken, Suzanne, Monica, and Geri. His wife, Donna, predeceased him. A Funeral Mass was offered Nov. 10 at Corpus Christi Church, with burial at Greenwood Union Cemetery, Rye.
