Deacon Robert “Bob” Winrow

Deacon Robert “Bob” Winrow, who served at St. Joseph’s parish in Kingston for 40 years, died Nov. 21 at his home. He was 86.

Deacon Winrow had served at St. Joseph’s since his ordination in 1978. He was known for his dedication to the parish, and for being accessible to parishioners.

He and his wife of 62 years, Dorothy, were involved in parish ministries. Deacon Winrow visited the sick and homebound, and performed baptisms and weddings.

Born in Somerville, Mass., he was a graduate of Tufts University, Medford, Mass. He was a career manager at IBM, 1955-1993, and at Hudson Valley Technology Corp., 1993-2006.

Also surviving Deacon Winrow are his five children: sons Robert, Mark and John, and daughters Marilyn Dillon and Claudia Bitonte. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 26 at St. Joseph’s Church. Burial followed in Hurley Cemetery.
