Posted

The church of St. Mary on Staten Island, which was part of the parish of St. Joseph and St. Mary Immaculate, has been relegated as no longer a sacred site for worship. A decree was issued Jan. 4.

The space will cease to be a place for the celebration of Mass or other sacraments.

The decree may be read on the archdiocesan website, archny.org. Access Pastoral, then Pastoral Planning, and Decree 1/4/20.
