Father Raymond H. Kelley, M.M., a missioner to Taiwan, died on Dec. 23 in Taiwan. He was 79.

Ordained a priest in 1958, Father Kelley spent his entire 52-year ministry in Taiwan, where he served at several parishes. At one parish, he also operated a medical dispensary because the village lacked a doctor. He also established a nutritional clinic, a parish kindergarten and a store, where parishioners could purchase goods at fair prices. From 1987 until his death, he was pastor of a parish in Nantou City.

Born in Attleboro, Mass., he entered Maryknoll in 1950 and made his final vows in 1957. He studied for the priesthood at Maryknoll Seminary in Ossining.

A brother, Robert, and two sisters, Anne Schleicher and Jane Fales, survive him.

A Funeral Mass was offered Dec. 30 at Nantou Catholic Church in Taiwan. Burial was in Yuan-lin Catholic Cemetery in Nantou.
