Father Vincent Duminuco, S.J., a past president of the Jesuit Secondary Education Association and director of the International Jesuit Educational Leadership program, died Sept. 6 at Murray-Weigel Hall, the Jesuit health care center in the Bronx. He was 74.

An educational administrator for many years, he was principal of Xavier High School in Manhattan, 1969-1974.

He served International Jesuit Educational Leadership as director, 1996-2007, based in New York, and as secretary, 1987-1996, in Rome. He was the delegate of the Jesuit superior general to the World Union of Jesuits, 1987-2004.

He was the rector of the Fordham University Jesuits, 2001-2008, and was director of the O’Hare Scholars Program at Fordham’s Graduate School of Education from 2004 until his death.

He served as president of the Jesuit Secondary Education Association, 1977-1986, headed its Committee on Research and Development, 1976-1977, and was on the staff of the Jesuit Conference, 1974-1976.

Born in the Bronx, he entered the Jesuits in Poughkeepsie in 1951 and professed vows in 1953. He studied at Woodstock College in Maryland and was ordained at Fordham University Church in 1964. He held a master’s degree and a doctorate, both in education, from Stanford University.

He is survived by a sister, Ann Marie Giarramella. A Funeral Mass was offered Sept. 10 at Fordham University Church. Burial was at the Jesuit Cemetery at Auriesville.
