The Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, a religious congregation founded in the Bronx in 1987 to work with the poor, has launched an initiative called “Renewal in Motion” to raise awareness for charities through creative means.

The 5-minute video that debuted March 5 features beat-boxing friars along with friars performing basketball stunts to raise awareness for Mary’s Meals. In the first two days, the video had more than 300,000 views.

The friars include seminarians from St. Joseph’s in Dunwoodie and others serving locally.
