Jean Hogan Hickey, who was active for many years at St. Vincent Ferrer parish in Manhattan, died Aug. 9. She was a lector, Eucharistic minister and choir member at St. Vincent Ferrer and had taught religion at St. Ignatius Loyola parish. She also was active in Pax Christi and was a Dame of Malta and a Lady of the Holy Sepulchre. A former actress, she is survived by her husband, Lawrence, who has served in Catholic programs aiding disabled youth in the archdiocese. He is the founder of the Lawrence F. Hickey Center for Child Development in the Bronx and former board chairman of the Kennedy Child Study Center in Manhattan. Mrs. Hickey also is survived by her four children, Frank Hickey, Elizabeth Lavin, Jane Sexton and the newscaster Magee Hickey Salembier. A Funeral Mass was offered Aug. 14 at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn.
