Marie J. Doty, a volunteer for more than 35 years in the Auxiliary of St. Vincent’s Hospital Westchester, died Sept. 24 at her home in Rye. She was 91.

She was a retired member of the board of the New York Foundling and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.

A contributor to Fordham University, she helped restore Fordham University Church. She was the first president of the board of Rosehill Housing, a residence complex for low-income senior citizens launched by Fordham University.

Born in Brooklyn, she graduated from Barnard College and held a master’s degree in political science from Columbia University.

She held the rank of Lady Grand Cross of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre and was a Dame of the Order of Malta.

Surviving are her husband, George; three daughters, Anne Marie Paine, Barbara Doty and Virginia Doty; and two sons, George Doty Jr. and William Doty.

A Funeral Mass was offered Sept. 29 at Resurrection Church, with burial at Greenwood Union Cemetery, both in Rye.
