Matilda Carucci Di Noia, mother of Dominican Father Joseph A. Di Noia, O.P., died Jan. 10 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Manhattan. She was 96. Father Di Noia, who grew up in the Bronx, is under secretary of the Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. Mrs. Di Noia, who was born in Montecorvino Rovella, Italy, was a longtime parishioner of St. Anthony's parish in the Wakefield section of the Bronx. She was predeceased by her husband, Giacomo. She is also survived by her son Andrew and her daughter, Rachel Benisheck. Father Di Noia offered the Funeral Mass Jan. 13 at St. Anthony's Church. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
