‘Real Faith’

Posted

I wanted to let Mary DeTurris Poust know that her column on “Humility” (CNY, July 7) did what any good writer hopes to achieve. She fleshed out what I’ve been struggling with and recently tried to put into words to both God and a close friend. Our walk with Christ, in suburban New York in 2016, is as real as any missionary or mystic who’s gone before us if we allow Him to lead and transform us on His terms into His image daily.

Her simple line, “Real transformation requires real faith,” says it all. From the opportunities to witness He gives us: “Who do you say I am?” to letting go of control: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness,” Jesus calls us to real faith. Real faith. Thanks to Ms. DeTurris Poust for putting that walk into words.
