Sister Adelaide Babicz, O.P., who served as a cook at Our Lady of Mercy Convent in the Bronx, died Nov. 8 at St. Dominic Villa in Sinsinawa, Wis. She was 99. She served at Our Lady of Mercy, 1931-1932. She also cooked at convents in Washington, D.C., and in Maryland, Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois. Born in Chicago, she entered the Sinsinawa Dominicans in 1928 and professed final vows in 1933. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Babicz. A Funeral Mass was offered Nov. 12 in Queen of the Rosary Chapel at Sinsinawa, with burial in the motherhouse cemetery.
