Sister Anthony Clare McGuire, S.A., who served for 18 years as secretary general of the Franciscan Sisters of the Atonement, died Jan. 14 at St. Francis Convent at Graymoor in Garrison. She was 92.

Sister Anthony Clare was secretary general from 1954 to 1972.

She also served in catechetical and pastoral ministries in New York, Connecticut and Maine.

Born in Allston, Mass., she entered the Atonement Sisters at Graymoor in 1944 and professed final vows in 1951.

A Funeral Mass was offered Jan. 18 in the motherhouse chapel at Graymoor. Burial was in the sisters’ cemetery at Graymoor.
