Sister Arthur Marie Doherty, O.S.F., who served in hospitals for 40 years, died March 31 at the Dobbs Ferry Pavilion of St. John’s Riverside Hospital. She was 95.
She was a laboratory technologist at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie and St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains from 1950 until her retirement in 1990. She also held various community service positions.
Born in the Bronx, she entered the Sisters of St. Francis of Hastings-on-Hudson in 1935 and professed final vows in 1940.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated April 5 at Our Lady of Angels Chapel at the motherhouse in Hastings-on-Hudson. Burial took place April 6 at Resurrection Cemetery on Staten Island.
