Sister Carolyn Bell, O.P., who served in White Plains for a year in the early 1950s, died Feb. 8 in Siena Hall Infirmary at Dominican Convent in Sparkill. She was 89.

She was at Cardinal McCloskey Home and School, White Plains, 1951-1952. She also served in Binghamton and in Missouri and Illinois.

Born in Jennings, Mo., she entered the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill in 1949. She made final vows in 1956.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Webster College in St. Louis and attended St. Louis University for religious studies.

A Funeral Mass was offered Feb. 13 at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel at Dominican Convent in Sparkill. Burial was at St. Agnes Cemetery, Sparkill.
