Sister Eduarda Makal, O.P., who taught at Our Lady of Mercy School in the Bronx for 17 years, died June 30 at the Dominican motherhouse in Sinsinawa, Wis. She was 88.
Sister Eduarda was a teacher at Our Lady of Mercy, 1982-1999. She also taught at schools in New Jersey, California and Wisconsin.
More recently, she served as a pastoral caregiver in Wisconsin and Illinois.
Born in Milwaukee, she entered the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa in 1952 and professed final vows in 1957.
She is survived by cousins.
A Funeral Mass was offered July 12 at the motherhouse. Burial was at the motherhouse cemetery.
