Sister Elizabeth McKenna, R.S.H.M.

Sister Elizabeth McKenna, R.S.H.M., who served at Marymount schools in Tarrytown for many years, died Sept. 21 at Marymount Convent in Tarrytown. She was 96.

She served at Marymount College, 1944-1950, and at Marymount Secondary School, 1939-1944, 1950-1967, and 1969. She also served at St. Pius X in Rosedale, 1967-1969.

In 1970 she became part of the staff caring for elderly and infirm sisters in Tarrytown, first at Marian Center and then at Marymount Convent.

Born in County Monaghan, Ireland, she entered the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary in 1937 and professed final vows in 1944.

She is survived by her sister, Ann O’Rourke.

A Funeral Mass was offered Sept. 25 in the convent chapel, with burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery in White Plains.
