Sister Helen Scoltock, S.C., who was principal of Our Lady of Angels School in the Bronx for nine years, died Feb. 2 at Kittay Senior Apartments in the Bronx. She was 92.

Sister Helen served at Our Lady of Angels, 1975-1984. She also was principal of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Manhattan, 1972-1975.

She taught at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Manhattan, 1967-1972; St. Patrick, Manhattan, 1960-1965; St. Peter, Poughkeepsie, 1957-1960; and St. Paul, Manhattan, 1948-1957.

She also served in Queens, Nassau County and New Jersey.

She volunteered at Mount St. Vincent Convent, the Bronx, 2011-2014, and the Sisters of Charity Center, the Bronx, 1997-2011.

Born in Springfield, N.Y., she entered the Sisters of Charity of New York in 1947 and professed final vows in 1951.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the College of Mount St. Vincent, the Bronx; and a master’s in elementary education from St. John’s University.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 6 in Mount St. Vincent Convent Assembly Room. Her cremated remains will be buried at a later date.
