Sister Jane Reynolds, O.P., who taught in elementary and high schools in the archdiocese, died Sept. 9 at Dominican Convent in Sparkill. She was 93.

She taught at Rosary Academy in Sparkill, 1977-1981; Cathedral High School, Manhattan, 1961-1975; St. Helena’s High School, the Bronx, 1958-1961; St. Rose of Lima School, Manhattan, 1956-1958; and St. John Chrysostom, the Bronx, 1945-1946. She also taught at the Katherine Gibbs School, 1975-1977.

She was bookkeeper at St. Agnes Home, Sparkill, 1954-1956 and 1944-1945, and at Cardinal McCloskey Home in White Plains, 1946-1954.

From 1980 to 1996 she was secretary to the president of Dominican Convent. After her retirement she lived at the convent until she entered its infirmary in 2000.

Born in Scranton, Pa., she entered the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill in 1942 and professed final vows in 1949. Formerly she was known as Sister Marie St. Ann. She held a bachelor’s degree in education from Fordham University and a master’s in religious studies from Manhattan College.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 12 at Dominican Convent, with burial at St. Agnes Cemetery in Sparkill.
