Sister Juliana Naulty, O.P., who served as a teacher in the archdiocese, died Oct. 14 in Newburgh. She was 85.
She taught at Holy Family School in New Rochelle, 1944-1947; Casa San José in Newburgh, 1947-1950; Bishop Dunn Memorial School in Newburgh, 1950-1960; and Our Lady of Victory School in Mount Vernon, 1960-1963. From 1963 to 1966 she taught at Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie.
She also was a principal and teacher in New Jersey.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., she entered the Dominican Sisters in 1941 and professed final vows in 1949.
She held a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Villanova University and a master's degree in the history of education from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
A Funeral Mass was offered Oct. 18 in the Dominican Sisters of Hope Chapel in Newburgh, with burial in the sisters' cemetery.
