Sister Katherine Marie Talbot, S.C., a teacher and administrator, died Aug. 14 at Mary the Queen Convent in Yonkers. She was 81.

Formerly known as Sister Anne Rosaire, she was registrar and admissions director at Elizabeth Seton College in Yonkers, 1961-1971 and 1977-1979, and then was regional superior of the Sisters of Charity Center at Mount St. Vincent, Riverdale, 1979-1987.

She was a teacher at the Grace Institute Outreach, Manhattan, 1987-1989; Cardinal Spellman High School, the Bronx, 1975-1977; and St. Joseph by-the-Sea High School, Staten Island, 1971-1972.

She also taught at Elizabeth Seton School, Yonkers, 1959-1961; Immaculate Conception, Manhattan, 1958-1959; and Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Manhattan, 1950-1958.

She served her community working in finance at Mount St. Vincent Convent in the Bronx, 2001-2008, and as regional superior at the Sisters of Charity Center, 1979-1987. She was administrator of Mary the Queen Convent, 1989-1998, and worked in volunteer services at Mount St. Vincent Convent and St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Yonkers, 1999-2001.

Born in New York City, she entered the Sisters of Charity of New York in 1947 and professed final vows in 1953.

She held a bachelor’s degree in math from the College of Mount St. Vincent and a master’s degree in management from New York University.

She is survived by two brothers, Father John Talbot, S.J., who serves in Puerto Rico, and Gerard Talbot, and a sister, Pat Dillon.

Father Talbot offered the Funeral Mass Aug. 18 at Mary the Queen Convent, with burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Yonkers.
