Sister Linda Isola, P.B.V.M.

Sister Linda Isola, P.B.V.M., who served as pastoral associate of Holy Rosary parish on Staten Island for 16 years, died Dec. 7 on Staten Island. She was 71.

Sister Linda was at Holy Rosary, 1993-2009, and served in the same role at Our Lady Star of the Sea, 2009-2011. She taught on Staten Island at Msgr. Farrell High School, 1984-1993; Moore Catholic High School, 1971-1984; and Immaculate Conception School, 1970-1971.

She also served at the Center for Spiritual Development in New York City.

Born on Staten Island, she entered the Presentation Sisters of Staten Island in 1966 and professed final vows in 1974.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in English, and a master’s in religious education, both from Fordham University, the Bronx. She received a Ph.D. from New York Theological Seminary, Manhattan.

Her sister, Jacqueline Lupo Diorio, survives her.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Dec. 12 at St. Clare’s Church, Staten Island. Burial was in Presentation Cemetery, Staten Island.
