Sister M. Charlene Taeschler, F.M.S.C.

Sister M. Charlene Taeschler, F.M.S.C., who served at Ladycliff College in Highland Falls, including as a dorm mother, died Sept. 8. She was 96.

At the college, Sister Charlene served in the library and the chapel, and she also was a dorm mother.

Born in the Bronx and raised in Union City, N.J., Sister Charlene entered the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart, Peekskill, in 1952, and made final vows in 1959.

After professing final vows, she was assigned to work in the sisters’ infirmary until 1969, when she went to Ladycliff College, which was founded by the sisters.

In 1980, she returned to Mount St. Francis Convent in Peekskill and resumed working in the infirmary.

A Funeral Mass was offered Sept. 11 at the convent. Burial was at the convent cemetery.
