Sister M. Jeanetta Hughes, I.H.M., who taught in Manhattan, died June 21 at Our Lady of Peace Residence in Scranton, Pa. She was 88. She taught at St. Stephen's School on East 29th Street from 1977 to 1990. She also taught in other dioceses served by her congregation, beginning in 1941 until her retirement in 1994. Born in Scranton, she entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1938 and professed final vows in 1944. She earned a bachelor's degree at Marywood College in Scranton. A Funeral Mass was offered June 25 at Our Lady of Peace Residence, with burial in St. Catherine Cemetery in Moscow, Pa.
