Sister Margaret Burke, I.H.M., a former teacher at St. Ann School in Nyack, died Nov. 17 at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, Pa. She was 78.
She taught at St. Ann’s, 1986-1988. She also taught in Manhasset, Long Island, and in Connecticut, Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
Born in New York City, she entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1958 and made final vows in 1966.
A Funeral Mass was offered Nov. 23 at the IHM Center in Scranton. Interment was at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pa.
