Sister Margaret Mary O'Malley, O.P.

Sister Margaret Mary O'Malley, O.P., a Dominican Sister of Sparkill who served in St. Louis, died Sept. 19 at Dominican Convent in Sparkill. She was 85. She spent nearly all of her religious life in St. Louis, where she was a principal and teacher and, for 20 years, an advocate for the elderly. She also taught at a school in Brooklyn. Born in St. Louis, she entered the Sparkill congregation in 1940 and professed final vows in 1947. Formerly she was known as Sister M. Felice. She held a bachelor's degree in education from Webster College and a master's in history from St. Louis University. She is survived by a sister, Eileen O'Malley. A cousin, Sister Margaret O'Driscoll, O.P., also is a Sparkill Dominican. A Funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 21 at Dominican Convent, with burial at St. Agnes Cemetery in Sparkill.
