Sister Margaretta Maria Brock, S.C., a registered nurse and nursing school director who served at three hospitals operated by the Sisters of Charity, died July 27 at Mary the Queen Convent in Yonkers. She was 95.

She served at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in Manhattan for a total of more than 50 years as a nurse, 1933-1944 and 1945-1946; a pediatrics nurse, 1960-1981; and a patient representative in the emergency room, 1981-2001.

In 1946 she was assigned to St. Joseph's Hospital in Yonkers to establish a school to train licensed practical nurses. She directed and taught in the school until 1952. From 1952 to 1960 she was director of nursing at St. Vincent's Hospital Westchester in Harrison.

She retired in 2001 and had resided at Mary the Queen Convent since 2006.

Born in Manhattan, she entered the Sisters of Charity in 1931 and professed final vows in 1937. She held a bachelor's degree in nursing and a master's in nursing administration, both from The Catholic University of America.

She was predeceased by six siblings, including her brother Father Frank Brock, S.J., of the Jesuits' New York Province. Her grandnephew Father Terry Brock celebrated her Funeral Mass July 31 at St. Margaret of Cortona in the Bronx, her childhood parish church. Burial was at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Yonkers.
