Sister Marian Louise Heinrich, O.P., a teacher at schools in the archdiocese, died July 28 at Nyack Hospital. She was 79.

She was prekindergarten coordinator at St. John Chrysostom School, 1997-2000, and director of the Early Childhood Program at St. Frances de Chantal, 1987-1997, both in the Bronx.

She taught at Aquinas High School, 1969-1974, St. Joseph's School, 1963-1969, and St. Anthony's on Matilda Avenue, 1955-1961, all in the Bronx; at Cardinal McCloskey Home, White Plains, 1951-1955; and in the Archdiocese of St. Louis and the Diocese of Brooklyn. She held administrative positions at Siena Hall Infirmary at Dominican Convent, Sparkill, 1978-1987, and Thorpe Residence in Manhattan, 1974-1978. She retired in 2000.

Born in Queens, she entered the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill in 1947 and professed final vows in 1954. She held a bachelor's degree in education and a master's in American history, both from Fordham University.

Surviving are two sisters, Marian Luby and Eleanor Maudsley, and a brother, Alfred.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Aug. 1 at Dominican Convent, with burial at St. Agnes Cemetery in Sparkill.
