Sister Marie Angelique Dryden, O.P., who taught at six schools in the archdiocese, died July 12 at Dominican Convent in Sparkill. She was 84.

She taught at Aquinas High School, the Bronx, 1980-1984; St. Helena, the Bronx, 1979-1980; Rosary Academy, Sparkill, 1976-1977; Albertus Magnus High School, Bardonia, 1974-1976; St. Theresa, the Bronx, 1957-1958; and St. John Chrysostom, the Bronx, 1955-1957.

She served in preaching ministry in parishes, 1980-1983, and was a member of the sisters’ executive team, 1992-1994, and novice director, 1977-1979.

Born in St. Louis, she entered the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill in 1953 and professed final vows in 1960. She held a master’s degree in speech and drama from The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.

Her sisters, Sister Frances Dryden, O.P., Sister Constance Eleanor, R.S.C.J., Geraldine, Clotilda, Carmelite and Anne survive her. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 19, at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, Sparkill. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Sparkill.
